Seeking Broader Collaboration and Use of GRIP Technologies, GRIP Members Present at UX@UM Conference.
Three members of the GRIP Lab recently presented about the Lab’s work with Anotemos at the inaugural UX@UM Conference. A conference focused on examining “how UX [User Experience] research can transform design principles and revolutionize human usage and perception of technology,” UX@UM brought together UX industry experts with students and scholars exploring issues of technology and design in their fields. Representing GRIP were Carolyn Hetrick, postdoctoral research fellow, and Megha Bairwal and Rashmi Nair, undergraduate researchers. The three shared details about a recent small-scale design-based study of students’ and instructors’ uses of Anotemos with video-based assignments in world language classes. Conducted with Dr. Patricio Herbst, the study represented the GRIP Lab’s interest in exploring how the software tools and applications developed in the course of earlier research projects might support other educational activities and communities.
